Under the chairmanship of Professor Francesco Locatelli (Lecco, Italy), groups of distinguished nephrologists and other renal disease specialists have met regularly at international workshops, in order to see whether they could reach consensus on a variety of issues. Deliberations on the earlier findings have now been published in Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation.
It is to be hoped that the contribution of the ACCORD initiative will help in the eventual compilation of a complete set of workable guidelines for all specialists and other healthcare professionals in the field of renal dialysis.
